Jon Jones has the best resume in MMA, says Terrance McKinney

1 December, 2022

UFC lightweight fighter Terrance McKinney was praised for star MMA professional Jon Jones and said he has the best resume in the sport’s history. McKinney took to Twitter to suggest that nobody in the world has a better record than the New York-based fighter.

“Jon Jones has the best resume in MMA no further question,” he said in a tweet.

Widely considered the greatest MMA fighter of all time, Jones holds the UFC record for most title defenses in the history of this sport. He managed to do so thirteen times. However, the screenshot posted by McKinney in his tweet shows Jones’ first nine title wins, up until his first win over Daniel Cormier in 2015.

While his record has been cleaned up to that point, Jones got embroiled in several controversies over the next two years and got stripped of his title thrice due to disciplinary action.

‘Bones’, as he is referred to, was first stripped of his world title in 2015 and was debarred from the UFC rankings after getting arrested on hit-and-run charges. He somehow managed to turn that tide in his favor and when he returned to the ring, He mounted back-to-back wins over Ovince St. Preux and Daniel Cormier in the following year

Unfortunately for the fighter, these fights were discounted due to ‘Bones’ failing drug tests and getting suspended again.

Former welterweight king Georges St-Pierre, another fighter often high up in the greatest of all time discussions, wants to see Jon Jones compete in a higher weight category. Jones has been trying to treasure the audience in the last year and a half over a return to the octagon and is rumored to be pitting against heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in March 2023.

GSP affirmed his full solidarity with Jones’ return and believes he will not be rusty despite staying out of the game for a while.

“A lot of people are like, ‘Yeah, he was out for a long time.’ He was out for a long time, but he’s Jon Jones, you know what I mean? Don’t forget that he’s Jon Jones. He’s arguably the best fighter of all time too. He can make a comeback, and I think he’s going to be successful when he does,” the UFC welterweight legend said.
